The Glass Key is an instrumental duo based in London.
It comprises Andrea Giommi (Sons of Viljems - Edible Woman - Leg Leg - The Emerald Leaves) and Nicola Lombardi (Uyuni).
Prior to finding a name for the project, Nicola and Andrea had been jamming in London for a few years, combining heavy electronic rhythms with layers of guitars and synth riffs.
The result was devilish instrumental music that reflected the different approaches and personalities of the two musicians.
The band now performs live as a duo or as a trio with the inclusion of the incredible Frank Byng on drums (Snorkel, This is not this heat, owner of Slowfoot Records).
The Glass Key debuted live in November 2021 in a concert in London sharing the stage with Laura Loriga and Charles Hayward of This Heat.
They went on to perform hyperkinetic concerts in London throughout 2022 and more are scheduled in Italy and the UK throughout the last part of the year and in 2023.
On this first release, the EP ‘Sleepwalking home’ out in November 2022 on Coypu Records (A place to bury strangers, Algiers, Soviet Soviet), the band combines their obsessive and repetitive approach to grooves with guitar progressions, distorted and apocalyptic drones and melancholic guitar and piano melodies.
The Glass Key music will have you embark on a journey, while digging deep into your psyche with repetitive and precise grooves.
